Our Strategies

In the SDD we:

  • Monitor commitments made in the SD Plan to help ensure they are met.

  • Track progress through sustainability indicators and report findings in an annual report to the Cabinet.

  • Assess the impacts of major Government initiatives on the long-term environmental, social and economic well being of Bermuda.

  • Ensure Civil Service awareness of the SD Plan and sustainable development concepts.

  • Assist the Sustainable Development Roundtable in their mandate including ensuring that the public is informed on Government's delivery of the SD Plan.

  • Maintain an awareness of sustainable development best-practice by attending international workshops, ensuring compliance with international conventions, and remaining aware of United Nations recommendations.
